Lesson: Disappointment leads into being quick to anger, irritability, ungratefulness, and makes you extremely vulnerable to the quick spreading disease of negativity. Negativity blocks blessings, divine favor, joy, peace, and love for others.
Solution: THANK YOU WINS THE WAR! As corny as it sounds, there is always something to be thankful for because it could always be worse. Find it. think on it, say thank you for it. The amazing thing about this is thankfulness breeds more thankfulness and symptoms of this are joy, love, favor, blessings, grace, slower to anger and quicker to listen.
I have recently been a test dummy for both sides and can I please just urge you to guard yourself from the nasty disease of negativity with the armor of God and by taking each thought captive and making it obedient to Jesus! Choosing to think upon only what is true! What is really true is what is in the Word of God. Jesus is the Truth! Think upon Him, His promises, His goodness towards you.
There is this amazing phenomenon I have become aware of that negativity and a truly grateful heart CANNOT coexist. It must be one or the other. Today I declare to you, I CHOOSE THANKFULNESS!!!!!!!!!!! (And and hour from now, I will have choose again, and again tomorrow.) What about you??
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
The Message (MSG)
3-6 The world is unprincipled. It’s dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn’t fight fair. But we don’t live or fight our battles that way—never have and never will. The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful God-tools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
Ephesians 6:13-18
The Message (MSG)
13-18 Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out
Philippians 4:8
New Living Translation (NLT)
8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise
