Washed Clean. Made New.

Standard

💭I had this thought going through my spirit today.
🫠Sometimes, when we’re serving in our purpose, it gets messy.
🤔When it gets messy, sometimes we understand that as we missed God.
🧐But what if, getting messy was part of your process?
🫤What if the mess was to help you realize how deeply you need God?

🍽️Consider a dinner plate.
🧆It’s purpose is to serve us for our meals.
🧼But man, everytime it serves its purpose, it’s messy and needs to be washed clean.

🚮Can you imagine the waste if we threw them away every time they got messy doing what they were made to do?

🫧Instead we wash them in preparation for them to serve again.
🎉It’s like they become brand new once more.

🤷‍♀️I wonder if we took the mess to the Lord and asked Him to wash us, make us new, and prepare us to serve in our purpose again- each time it got messy- How could we encounter Him and allow our mess be turned into a message?

✝️The mess won’t be the message- but how He tenderly met us, washed us, and made us new- that becomes the message we carry.

📣One of His faithfulness! One of His kindness! One of His marvelous love!

❤️‍🔥Today, let’s ask Him to reframe any mess we interpreted at a missed mark- and help us to bring Him that mess and make us new.

🙏🏻Lord Jesus, there is nothing too dirty, too messy, that Your love can’t wash white and make new! I invite You to reveal anything I’ve misunderstood and tried to throw away that really just needs Your healing touch. I invite you into my mess and ask You to give me a new message of Your faithfulness to bring to the world! I love You Jesus! It’s by Your blood, spirit, and power, in Your holy name I pray! Amen.

📖Revelation 21:5

“And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’”

📖Lamentations 3:22-23

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

📖Romans 6:4

“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”

Agree with the enemy?????

Standard

A bunch of years ago a friend shared with me a way to overcome the assault of the enemy on our minds. They encouraged me to “agree with the enemy!” I was instantly offended and almost stopped listening because for many years that what I was doing and the result was depression, terror, fear, anxiety, and defeat. However, at that time, I was learning how much my listening muscle needed to be strengthened and I was intentionally being quick to listen and slow to speak. I also was choosing to not just look like I was listening, but to be actively listening. So I listened!

As they continued, it was explained to me that the plan of the enemy is always to hit us in our weakness. He always likes to kick us while we are down, and speak hopelessness into the area we have the hardest time believing God for to begin with. When he unleashes his arsenal into a weak point, it is usually a more effective attack, because we often come into agreement with his lies much easier then if he attacked a place we were confident in and firmly believed God for.

So, why agree with the enemy? Isn’t that ludicrous? Well, what they were trying to convey was to take the point of attack as a tip off to one’s weaknesses. Use the enemy’s spotlight of a certain area in your life, identity, relationships, or circumstances to take that specific thing to the Lord.

For example,a part of the call on my life is to have a voice. The Lord has called me to say what He tells me to say, to use my voice to set the captives free, and to not fear rejection of man because He is with me and for me. So most often the attack on my mind sounds something like, “No one cares about what you have to say,” or, “You talk too much, they are tired of listening- you are being selfish by saying so much- you should let someone else have a turn.” Sometimes it comes through individuals, often who I have felt “safe” or “known” with- who have declared that I am a fraud and am living my life the opposite of what I say I believe. OUCH! Both hurt, and both make me want to sit down, shut my mouth, and blend in. BUT GOD SAYS what?

This is how we “come into agreement” with the enemy. We say, “Oh Lord, can you remind me what You say about the voice You have given me?” “Lord, remind me of how You called me?” “Lord, bring to the forefront of my mind the purpose for which You created me?” “Lord, You know my innermost parts- can You search me and show me any offensive way in me, and also Lord, will You show me what you love about who I am?”

So you see, I have allowed the attack to cause me to draw near to God. I use the attack to highlight the weakness in my believing or agreeing fully with what God has said. I allow the Lord to use the attack for good by bringing it to Him immediately, choosing not to lean on my own understanding to draw conclusions about what is true. HOW POWERFUL!

As I began intentionally handling the assaults on my identity with this strategy, do you know what happened????? The enemy QUIT attacking me this way because I was gaining so much confidence in who God says I am, and specifically what I am called to do and why.

That was years and years ago- and sometimes- in the busyness of life- we can forget a particular strategy. Yesterday, was a battle for me. I was struggling with where I am at and why I am here and what choices I am making and needing to remember my why. I was seeking the Lord for clarity where confusion was growing and asking Him to show me, to remind me, to say again what was true! I was led to Psalm 18 which was incredibly amazing, affirming, and a huge blessing. Then, my Bible literally turned to Nehemiah 6 on it’s own. I began reading and for the first time I saw this strategy in scripture.

CHECK IT OUT!

Nehemiah 6:8-9
New International Version (NIV)
8 I sent him this reply: “Nothing like what you are saying is happening; you are just making it up out of your head.”9 They were all trying to frighten us, thinking, “Their hands will get too weak for the work, and it will not be completed.”But I prayed, “Now strengthen my hands.”

Did you catch it? He was being accused, he stood on what was true, and then he took the specific attack, THEIR HANDS WILL GET TOO WEAK FOR THE WORK, straight to the Lord and PRAYED- NOW STRENGTHEN MY HANDS!!!!!!

How powerful! It’s scripture! And in the next chapter- just 52 days later- the work was completed! The work that was so desperately trying to be defeated- was completed less than two months later- it was just around the bend- and if he would have listened to the voice of the intimidator or the defeater, the work that was almost done- wouldn’t have ever been done. AND GUESS WHAT?? The finished work prepared a place for the exiles to come home to!

What work is it that you have been called to? What purpose has God called you to that you just want to give up on? What voice or message are you coming into agreement with? Are you willing to try a new strategy or revive a strategy you have learned before and maybe forgotten about? YOU ARE AN OVERCOMER! Your victory is only around the bend. STICK TO WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED TO DO- and others will be brought home- to their rightful place- because you said YES to God in the face of all of the obstacles, attacks, and opportunities to give up. YOU ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE even if no one but God knows it or believe it yet!

Galatians 6:7-10
New International Version (NIV)
7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

Been stuck…but trying again.

Standard

Hello Friends! In the face of accusation, I was believing I had nothing worth while to bring and further more that my life wasn’t worthy of being shared and if I’m not even received well by those who have known me the longest, then perhaps I should just be quiet.

But do you know what the Lord showed me? He showed me how Jesus wasn’t even received by those who had known Him the longest. In His own hometown, He could not be free to be His truest self because the familiarity of “knowing” Him kept the people from seeing the real Him. WOW!

The Lord also showed me how Hannah was tormented by someone in her world and it would often reduce her to tears and keep her from eating. Rejection and accusation hurt- but they only get to define us if we come into agreement the message which is trying to convince us that we are less than the Lord says we are.

Thankfully, I serve a greater authority than any other man- I serve Jesus. Jesus gets to define who I am. Although it is difficult- any time I begin to ponder on what these other people have spoken over me (which has silenced my voice for over a month as I have struggled deeply to discern what was true) I have to release them to the Lord and pray that His blessings, His love, and His kindness would be upon them. And then I ask Him to speak to me, yet again, of who He says I am.

One particular night, after an extremely troubling encounter full of accusation which brought deep sadness and heaviness to my heart, I asked the Lord to speak over me all night long who I am to Him. The first thing I heard were the words to this song:

You’re My Beloved, You’re My Bride, To Sing over You is My Delight, Come Away with Me My Love.

I sing over you my song of peace,Cast all your care down at my feet ,Come and find your rest in me

I’ll breathe my life inside of you, I’ll bear you up on eagle’s wings, And hide you in the shadow of my strength

I’ll take you to my quiet waters ,I’ll restore your soul, Come rest in me and be made whole.

And I was lost, yet again, in His love. My soul needed restoring, and I was weak and hurt and vulnerable, and the only place I could feel safe was in the shadow of His strength. I needed so desperately to know I was His and that He STILL delights in me, even though others express utter disgust with me. Do you see how powerful it is to bring your wounded places to the heart of the One who can heal them? Do you see how differently I may feel about the ones who are currently accusing, rejecting, and hurting me if I couldn’t turn to Jesus and ask them to bless, love, and heal them also?

Friends, my mind wants to take control- my thinker wants to defend myself, to lash back and PROVE that I am not any of the things they are saying I am- but what did Jesus do when He was being attacked- He shook the dust off of His feet and kept moving. He blessed and loved and kept His eyes fixed on the Father, staying in His will. He was not delayed, distracted, or defeated by any who did not receive Him, He simply kept focusing on the ones who did.

Although, my heart is still hurting, I am receiving this season of conflict as an opportunity to upgrade my response and to become more like Jesus. And I would love to encourage you today, that if you are being misunderstood, or accusation is being hurled in your direction, or if you are sharing in any of the sufferings of Jesus, accept the opportunity for upgrade. Keep your eyes fixed on Him who is the Author and Perfecter of your faith, and release those who are hurting you to the Lord believing HIs goodness and kindness will minister to their wounded places which are ultimately trying to wound you also. He is always the way!

Morning, Noon, and Night

One of the best choices we can make to succeed in life- is to know the Word of God. This is a major game changer- He is what gives us directions, wisdom, guidance, and teaches us the highest way to live. One thing for 2014 that the Lord has placed on my heart is returning to the discipline of memorizing scripture and choosing to deliberately base my actions and reactions upon the scripture I am currently memorizing. Then, I felt that He wanted me to share this journey with you- would you like to join me? We are going to memorize one portion of scripture a week, and deliberately act upon it morning, noon, and night.
We start Monday- so begin thinking upon and working on memorizing this portion of scripture if you want to join along! ( I am so excited because I can’t imagine the ripple effects and how much more we will become like HIM!)

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
New Living Translation (NLT)
4 Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Well Loved

I’m so impressed this morning about being God’s daughter.

We took my son to Disney World last night as a last minute decision to catch some rides and see the fireworks. I LOVE spontaneous FUN. I was in my element. AND to top it off, we did his FIRST roller coaster! And the first time he rode in the “race cars” with his Daddy. I found myself so exhilarated to watch his face and see it through his eyes. I have never known a joy this grand, and it constantly expands! How can this be? He was truly mesmerized by the fireworks. He could not peel his eyes away. As I watched his eyes, and the sparkle in them, seemingly down into his spirit, I was undone with love. How did I get this opportunity? Who am I that the Lord would allow me such gifts?

Then this morning when Brendon woke up, as he does every morning, he finds me and sits with me for  awhile. Last night, I slept with a mask on (green at that), and that was the first thing he noticed. He knows my face so well ,because we have a deep love relationship, that the first thing he said was, “On your nose? Water, Mommy, wash it.” I delighted in his discovery, his solution, his revelation. I was so drawn to watch every movement of his mouth as his little voice shared the desires of his heart. I noticed how he was grinning to one side because he was expressing a bit of humor. My heart leaps at his presence. It is so delightful to be his mommy. I just LOVE everything about this human being. EVERYTHING. Even on his bad days ( we all have them) my heart explodes at watching him learn, and turn from behavior that does not fit into our atmosphere. It is so incredible!

So, back to being God’s daughter. As I was enjoying Brendon so much this morning- just minutes ago- the Lord said, “I delight in you just the same! Come and sit with Me. Check my face out, is there anything new? And you would know, because you know my face. Daughter,I love to watch you discover. I love to watch you become. I love to watch you learn where not to go and turn from it. I rejoice over every piece and part of who you are because you are Mine! It is good to be your Father. I love you daughter.”

This is true for you too! You are His son or His daughter. He delights in you. He is undone by your expression. He is watching you in adoration. He wants you to know that you don’t earn this love, you are loved just because you are His. His love IS NOT contingent upon your choices. Nothing can separate you from His love. I challenge you to slow today. Slow your mind, your spirit and sit with your Father a while. Look for His face, check it out. Discover, experience, and receive His love for you. He sings over you. YOU ARE WELL LOVED in every moment, every circumstance, every place. NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING can separate you from His love for you!

All about our Anchor

Standard
Ahhh…..I love the Word of God! I am so blessed how His word is alive! I went into my email to find something I will be sharing with you all shortly and the Lord brought  me back to an email I wrote almost exactly a year ago. In His perfect timing, He has brought this very thing up in the forefront of my thoughts again, however I had no recollection of writing this email. This is living water! I pray you drink deep and find hope. I did/am.
I wanted to share with you a scripture that I have been meditating upon and researching for greater wisdom! You know the Lord speaks to me about my life in reference to a ship, and the other day He began to highlight to me that a ship always needs an anchor. He is our anchor, and though the storms may rage, He will KEEP us anchored to Him….
Before I share the scripture, I wanted to share a little of what I have recently learned about anchors. Anchors were originally ROCKS!!!!! He is our Rock and our salvation! Hallelujah! Anchors have a “crown” Praise KING Jesus!
Anchors that are not strong enough to hold, will be ripped up and the boat will sink in the storm. He is our ever-present help in time of need! He will never leave us nor forsake us! When we are slipping we cry out and He reaches out and pulls us up. If God is our anchor, we can NEVER sink! Hallelujah!
Also, the word “HOPE” can mean a cord, or rope, attached to the Lord. A dear friend of mine helped me to envision this as an umbilical cord from Heaven to “this piece of Earth” ( meaning my life, your life) feeding me my daily nutrients vital for sustaining life in Christ, and I can also envision this as an anchor which is so totally wrapped in Christ, who is my ROCK, that it could never be pulled out or up. There is such thing as “temporary” anchors, and “permanent” anchors. May I just encourage us  that we most definitely have a PERMANENT ANCHOR! Hallelujah!
Here is the scripture in a few versions! May the Lord bless you and keep you! I am praying for you! Your ship will not wander to and fro for you are securely anchored by the Rock, King Jesus!!!!!!!!!!

Hebrews 6:19

Amplified Bible (AMP)

19[Now] we have this [hope] as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whoever steps out upon it–a hope] that reaches farther and enters into [the very certainty of the Presence] within the veil,

Hebrews 6:19

The Message (MSG)
18-20We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 6:19

J.B. Phillips New Testament (PHILLIPS)
16-20 Among men it is customary to swear by something greater than themselves. And if a statement is confirmed by an oath, that is the end of all quibbling. So in this matter, God, wishing to show beyond doubt that his plan was unchangeable, confirmed it with an oath. So that by two utterly immutable things, the word of God and the oath of God, who cannot lie, we who are refugees from this dying world might have a source of strength, and might grasp the hope that he holds out to us. This hope we hold as the utterly reliable anchor for our souls, fixed in the very certainty of God himself in Heaven, where Jesus has already entered on our behalf, having become, as we have seen, “High Priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek”.

Daughter-I love you!

I drew a crown and wrote Princess inside. Then beneath that I began to write the names of the next generation of God’s Daughter’s rising up and encircled them in a big heart, I believe it is symbolic of His heart. I then began to journal a prayer:

Lord, I thank You for this next generation of Your daughters rising up. I pray a special hedge of protection over their eyes, their minds, their bodies. I pray for supernatural dreams to be given to them by You- where they can understand Your great love, Your unfailing love that protects us, builds us up, defines us. Lord, I pray that they would know so deeply who they are in You that any contrary method or message would be immediately discerned and dismissed. I pray that You are shaping and molding a husband for them who loves You and who can love, value, and rejoice in a wife with a great call and annointing. Bless them with Your perspective. Bless them with Your wisdom to process their experiences. Whatever they may already be attaching to that is not Your best for them, I pray You break that agreement in Jesus’ name. Hold them close, be constantly whispering Your truth into their atmosphere. Give their parents wisdom of how to convey Your love, Your acceptance, Your joy over them, and how joyful and fulfilling Your will is. Bless them now with a revelation of your grace. Be preparing them for ministry and advancing Your Kingdom by giving them a supernatural hunger and love for You and Your Word. Set them free. Keep them. Protect them. Send Your angels to have charge over them. Lord, I rejoice in each life You have created and for the plans and purposes You created them for. I agree with You for their destiny, anointing, and purpose. Open doors Lord that will lead them in Your way. Lock doors which will lead them astray. Teach their parents and grandparents how to pray and agree with You- to rejoice with You over them. Teach them how to speak their destiny in You into existence. Teach them how to love these princesses with Your love. Lord, guard their hearts until it’s time. Let them see themselves how You see them. Bless them Lord. I trust You with their futures. I love You Jesus and I ask all of this in Your name! Amen!

Ladies, I am simply sharing with you what poured out of my spirit and onto the pages of my journal for You, Your daughters, Your granddaughters, sisters, nieces, cousins, and friends, any daughter of God.

The Lord gave me this acronym today and I pray it blesses you!

He also is beginning to unlock the mystery of His great love for us. He is showing me how everything about Him is constant, unchanging, and that includes His love. His love is constant. His love is constantly in full measure. It is eternal. It is unfailing. It endures forever. It will never grow or diminish. Nothing we can do can ever ever ever separate us from His love. He is LOVE and He will never leave us nor forsake us. He will never reject us. We are eternally accepted! There is no fear in His love. Nothing we can do could make Him love us more. His love is in FULL MEASURE always, every second, not dependent on our actions one way or another.

I am being blown away by this truth because I have lived my entire Christian life trying to maintain His love, to keep it, to make sure I did enough loving others, praying, fasting, ministering, worshipping to keep Him in love with me. But now that I am understanding how He loves me consistently, constantly, not dependent on anything I do or do not do, I am set free. I am free to rest in Him.I am free to fully trust Him. I am free to believe Him. I am free to enjoy Him as a real daughter of God. One who is fully loved and accepted without condition. I have no need to fear rejection with Him.

This is brand new to me, and already I am experiencing shifts in my life I have been trying to make happen without success only frustration. These shifts I have so desired are now happening simply within the flow of His love. I can tell this fresh revelation is transforming me by renewing my mind. I am so excited to walk in the fullness of His love for me, and exemplify this to the ones coming up so this is where they can start! This is what they see, and know from the beginning! Isn’t that a wonderful thought??? No more striving, performing, working like crazy for the generations to come! Simply being His daughter and resting in Him and walking in step with the Spirit. YES! YES! Yes Lord!

Oh! How you love me! How I love You Lord!
